ABOUT

I was born in Rome, Italy, in 1970. My journey with photography began when I was just ten years old after watching Antonioni’s iconic film Blow-Up. Captivated by the art of capturing a moment, I borrowed my father’s camera, and from that moment on, I knew that photography would be a lifelong passion.

My interest in photography deepened during my time in the army, where I trained as a reporter. It was there, in what we called the “hairy zone,” that I learned the essentials of shooting and reporting in challenging conditions. That experience shaped my approach to photojournalism, instilling in me a respect for both the intensity and the impact of capturing stories through a lens.

In early 2000, I moved to Australia and decided to formally pursue my passion. I enrolled in a photography course at the University of Melbourne, where I refined my technical skills and gained new perspectives on the art form. I also became a member of the Australian Institute of Professional Photography (AIPP), an affiliation that connected me with the vibrant community of professional photographers across the country. Later, I completed a postgraduate degree in photojournalism at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) in Spain, broadening my expertise and my network on an international scale.

Today, I am a contributing photographer for elPeriódico, a Spanish newspaper, where I cover major events across the globe. Each assignment allows me to tell compelling stories, striving to capture moments that resonate with the audience and convey the reality and significance of each event.
